Synopsis/Plot
The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! is a 1988 American comedy film starring Leslie Nielsen as the bumbling police lieutenant Frank Drebin. The film is based on the television series Police Squad!, which had been cancelled after six episodes. The plot revolves around Drebin’s attempts to foil a plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II, who is visiting Los Angeles to attend a baseball game.
The film features an all-star cast, including George Kennedy, Priscilla Presley, O.J. Simpson, Ricardo Montalbán, and Nancy Marchand. The film is filled with slapstick comedy, sight gags, puns, and one-liners.
The film opens with Drebin investigating a drug ring at a baseball stadium. However, when he accidentally disrupts a charity event, he is demoted to the police squad. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure known as “Mr. Fingers” is plotting to assassinate the Queen during her visit to Los Angeles.
