Synopsis/Plot
The Muppets is a 2011 American musical comedy film and the seventh theatrical film featuring the Muppets. It was directed by James Bobin, written by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller, and stars Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, and Rashida Jones.
The film follows the Muppets, a group of puppet characters created by Jim Henson, as they reunite to save their beloved Muppet Theater from being demolished by an oil tycoon. With the help of three fans, Walter, Mary, and Gary, the Muppets embark on a cross-country journey to reunite the group and raise enough money to save the theater.
Along the way, they must contend with a villainous Tex Richman, who has a plan to tear down the Muppet Theater and drill for oil beneath it. The Muppets must also contend with their own personal issues, such as Kermit’s reluctance to lead, Fozzie’s insecurity, and Gonzo’s fear of commitment.
