Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Monster Squad”
The Monster Squad is a 1987 adventure-comedy film directed by Fred Dekker. It follows a group of pre-teen kids who form a secret club to battle classic movie monsters such as Dracula, the Wolf Man, Frankenstein’s Monster, and the Mummy.
The Monster Squad begins in a small town in the 1950s, where a group of kids, led by Sean (Andre Gower) and Patrick (Robby Kiger), form a club to battle classic movie monsters. The other members of the Monster Squad are Rudy (Ryan Lambert), Horace (Brent Chalem), and Eugene (Michael Faustino).
When the kids discover that Dracula (Duncan Regehr) is planning to take over the world, they decide to take on the challenge of stopping him. With the help of a mysterious old man named Scary German Guy (Leonardo Cimino), they set out to find the magical amulet that will give them the power to defeat Dracula and his monsters.
The Monster Squad soon learns that they must also battle Frankenstein’s Monster (Tom Noonan), the Wolf Man (Carl Thibault), and the Mummy (Tom Woodruff Jr.). Along the way, they must also contend with the evil Dr. Frankenstein (Jonathan Gries) and his creation, the Creature (Tom Woodruff Jr.).
