Synopsis/Plot

The Misfits is a 1961 American drama film directed by John Huston and starring Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, Montgomery Clift, Thelma Ritter, and Eli Wallach. The film follows the lives of a group of outcasts living in Reno, Nevada, who are struggling to cope with the changing times and the death of the American West.

The movie follows a recently divorced woman named Roslyn (Marilyn Monroe) who meets a cowboy named Gay (Clark Gable) in Reno. They quickly fall in love, but Roslyn’s ex-husband, Guido (Eli Wallach), is determined to win her back. Meanwhile, Gay and Roslyn’s friend, PerMeanwhile, Gay and Roslyn’s friend, Perce Howland (Montgomery Clift), is struggling with his own inner demons. He is a former rodeo star who is now trying to make a living as a cowboy, but he is haunted by memories of his past and is unable to move on. As the four friends struggle to make their way in the world, they must confront their own inner demons and find a way to make a life for themselves in the face of the changing times.
