The Mirror Has Two Faces is a romantic comedy-drama released in 1996, starring Barbra Streisand, Jeff Bridges, Pierce Brosnan, George Segal, and Lauren Bacall.

The story follows Rose Morgan (Barbra Streisand), a shy, plain-looking English professor at Columbia University who has been unlucky in love. Rose’s mother Hannah (Lauren Bacall) is determined to find her a husband, but Rose is determined to stay single and focus on her career.

Enter Gregory Larkin (Jeff Bridges), a handsome, successful mathematics professor at Columbia who is also unlucky in love. Gregory proposes a marriage of convenience to Rose, in which they will remain platonic friends and live together without any physical or emotional intimacy. Rose agrees, and the two move in together.

At first, the arrangement works out great. Rose and Gregory are able to help each other out with their respective issues, and they develop a strong friendship. However, as time passes, Gregory begins to develop feelings for Rose, and Rose begins to realize that she might be developing feelings for Gregory as well.

Meanwhile, Rose’s mother Hannah is determined to make sure the marriage works out, and she arranges for Gregory to take a makeover to make him more attractive. The makeover works and Gregory and Rose’s relationship begins to change.

The Mirror Has Two Faces is a romantic comedy-drama about the power of love and transformation.
