Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Mangler”
The Mangler is a 1995 horror film directed by Tobe Hooper and based on the short story of the same name by Stephen King.
The film follows Bill Gartley, the owner of a rundown laundry service in rural Maine. After an industrial laundry machine is delivered to his business, strange and unexplainable events begin to occur. Employees start to get injured and killed by the machine, and Bill soon discovers that the machine has a sinister mind of its own.
Bill teams up with Detective John Hunton, who is investigating the mysterious deaths at the laundry service. As they investigate further, they discover that the machine is possessed by a dark force that is determined to feed off human flesh.
The dark force is revealed to be the spirit of a vengeful serial killer who was killed in a fire at the laundry service many years ago. As the spirit grows stronger, it begins to take control of the machine and the people around it.
Meanwhile, Bill and John must find a way to stop the evil force before it is too late. With the help of a local priest, they must battle the supernatural forces that threaten to destroy their lives.
