Synopsis/Plot
The Lost City of Z is a 2016 adventure drama film directed by James Gray and based on the 2009 book of the same name by David Grann. The film stars Charlie Hunnam as British explorer Percy Fawcett, who disappeared while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon jungle in 1925.
The film follows Fawcett’s journey from a young British officer in 1906 to his obsession with finding the lost city of Z in the jungles of the Amazon. Along the way, he faces numerous obstacles, including hostile natives, dangerous wildlife, and his own doubts about his mission. Despite the challenges, Fawcett is determined to prove the existence of the city and to prove that he can be the first to find it.
The film also stars Robert Pattinson as Fawcett’s son Jack, Sienna Miller as his wife Nina, and Tom Holland as his friend and fellow explorer, Corporal Henry Costin. Along with the main cast, the film also features a number of supporting characters, including Edward Ashley as Major James Murray, Angus Macfadyen as Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett, and Franco Nero as the explorer’s mentor, Professor Arthur Manley.
