Synopsis/Plot
The Lobster is a 2015 dark comedy-drama film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and co-written by him and Efthimis Filippou. The film stars Colin Farrell as David, a recently divorced man who is sent to a hotel where he must find a new romantic partner in 45 days or else he will be transformed into an animal of his choice. In the hotel, he meets a variety of characters, including a loner played by John C. Reilly and a woman played by Rachel Weisz who has a secret relationship with another man.
The Lobster is set in a dystopian future in which single people are required to find a romantic partner within 45 days or else they will be transformed into an animal of their choosing.
