Synopsis/Plot
The Infiltrator is a 2016 crime drama directed by Brad Furman and starring Bryan Cranston, John Leguizamo, and Diane Kruger. The film is based on the true story of undercover U.S. Customs agent Robert Mazur, who infiltrated the criminal underworld of Colombia’s drug cartels in the mid-1980s.
Mazur (Cranston) is an ambitious, determined agent who is assigned to investigate the financial dealings of Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and his associates. To do this, Mazur goes undercover as a money launderer, infiltrating the drug cartel and working his way up the ranks. He is aided by fellow agent Emir Abreu (Leguizamo), and together they must navigate a complex web of lies and deceit in order to successfully bring down the cartel.
The film follows Mazur’s journey as he risks his life to expose the truth about the drug cartels. Along the way, he faces many obstacles, including a corrupt partner, a suspicious boss, and the threat of being discovered by the drug lords. As the investigation progresses, Mazur and Abreu are forced to make difficult decisions that may have far-reaching consequences
