Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is a 2013 comedy film about two rival Las Vegas magicians, Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi).
The movie starts with Burt and Anton as children, dreaming of becoming the greatest magicians in the world. Fast forward to the present day, and Burt and Anton are the two most popular magicians in Las Vegas, performing nightly at the Bally’s hotel. They have been performing the same show for years, and are slowly becoming stale and outdated.
When a new, hip street magician named Steve Gray (Jim Carrey) starts to steal the show, Burt and Anton’s popularity begins to decline. To make matters worse, their old friend Rance Holloway (Alan Arkin) is about to retire and sell off the Bally’s theater.
Desperate to save their act, Burt and Anton travel to a small town in Arizona to try and reconnect with the magic of their childhood. There, they meet a young girl named Jane (Olivia Wilde) who helps them rediscover their love of magic.
With Jane’s help, Burt and Anton create a new show that is a huge hit. They return to Las Vegas to reclaim their spot at the top of the magic world. However, they soon find out that Steve Gray has been sabotaging their efforts and is determined to keep them from succeeding.
