The film follows the story of Henrietta Lacks, a young African-American woman whose cells were taken without her knowledge in 1951 and used to create the first immortal human cell line, known as the HeLa cell line.
The movie focuses on the life of Henrietta Lacks and her family, and the impact the HeLa cell line had on the scientific community.
