Synopsis/Plot
The Heroes of Telemark is a 1965 British-American war drama film directed by Anthony Mann and starring Kirk Douglas, Richard Harris, and Ulla Jacobsson. The film is based on the true story of the Norwegian heavy water sabotage during World War II, in which a group of Norwegian resistance fighters sabotaged the Nazi’s attempts to build an atomic bomb.
The film follows the story of Knut Straud (Kirk Douglas), a Norwegian scientist who is recruited by the Norwegian resistance to help sabotage the Nazi’s heavy water production in the Telemark region of Norway. With the help of his best friend, Rolf (Richard Harris), and a young woman, Karen (Ulla Jacobsson), Knut and his team must use their knowledge and courage to fight against the Nazis and protect their country.
