Synopsis/Plot
The Haunted Mansion is a 2003 fantasy-comedy film directed by Rob Minkoff and starring Eddie Murphy. The film follows a real estate agent, Jim Evers (Murphy), and his family as they get stuck in an old haunted mansion while trying to sell it.
Jim, his wife Sara (Marsha Thomason) and their two children, Megan (Aree Davis) and Michael (Marc John Jefferies), are sent to the mysterious Gracey Manor to look into a sale. Upon arrival, they meet the mansion’s caretaker, Ramsley (Terence Stamp), who warns them to leave immediately. But when the family gets locked inside the mansion, they soon discover that it is haunted by a ghostly couple, Master Gracey (Nathaniel Parker) and his bride, Emma (Jennifer Tilly).
The Evers family must find a way to break the mansion’s curse and escape alive. Along the way, they are aided by a friendly ghost named Madame Leota (Jennifer Tilly) and a comical group of hitchhiking ghosts. As they explore the mansion, they uncover secrets from its past and come face-to-face with a powerful evil force.
