Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Hard Way”
The Hard Way is a 1991 action-comedy film starring Michael J. Fox and James Woods. The film follows Fox’s character, Nick Lang, an arrogant movie star who is desperate to do something more challenging than his usual roles. In an effort to gain more respect from the public, Lang decides to take on the role of a New York City cop and go undercover to solve a high-profile murder case.
Lang is assigned to work with Detective John Moss (James Woods), a hard-boiled police veteran who is not impressed with Lang’s star status and is not willing to put up with his antics. Despite their differences, the two must work together to crack the case. As they investigate, they discover a web of corruption involving a powerful drug lord, a mysterious informant, and a dangerous gang of thugs.
The two men soon find themselves in a life-and-death struggle against the criminals, and Lang must use his celebrity status to gain access to places and people that Moss cannot. With Moss’ help, Lang learns the ropes of being a cop, and the two eventually team up to bring the criminals to justice.
