He plans to promote his new organic cleaning product to various stores across the country. His mother, Joyce (Barbra Streisand), insists on coming with him on the trip to visit old friends and relatives.
At first, the two don’t get along and Andy is frustrated with his mother’s constant nagging and interfering. However, as the journey progresses, they start to bond and Andy begins to understand his mother more. Along the way, they encounter a variety of people and situations which help to bring them closer together.
At one point, they visit an old flame of Joyce’s and Andy learns more about his mother’s past. Through this experience, he comes to realize how much he loves and appreciates his mother. In the end, the two have a better understanding of each other and Andy realizes that his mother is a source of strength and wisdom.
