Synopsis/Plot
The Grudge is a 2004 American supernatural horror film directed by Takashi Shimizu and written by Stephen Susco. It is a remake of the Japanese film Ju-on: The Grudge. The film follows a young woman who is exposed to a mysterious curse that is spreading throughout her Tokyo neighborhood.
The film stars Sarah Michelle Gellar as Karen Davis, a young American nurse living in Tokyo. Karen is asked to visit the home of an elderly woman, Emma Williams, who has been hospitalized. Upon entering the house, Karen discovers a mysterious curse that has been placed upon it. She soon finds out that the curse, known as the grudge, is a vengeful spirit that kills anyone who comes into contact with it. As the curse spreads, Karen must find a way to destroy the grudge before it destroys her.
