Synopsis/Plot
The Green Knight is a 2020 American fantasy drama film directed by David Lowery and written by Lowery and Toby Halbrooks. The film stars Dev Patel as Sir Gawain, a knight of King Arthur’s court who embarks on a quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, played by Sean Harris.
The film follows Gawain as he is summoned by the Green Knight to a distant castle in the forest. Gawain accepts the challenge and sets off on a journey to confront the Green Knight, who is said to be a magical creature of unknown origin. Along the way, Gawain meets a variety of characters, including a mysterious woman named Lady Bertilak, played by Alicia Vikander, and a mysterious old man, played by Ralph Ineson.
Gawain eventually reaches the castle and faces off against the Green Knight. In a series of tests and challenges, Gawain must prove his worth and courage. Through this, Gawain learns the Green Knight is actually the god of the forest and must be defeated in order to save the kingdom.
