Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Great Train Robbery”
The Great Train Robbery is a silent film released in 1903. It is considered to be the first western film ever made and is also credited with being one of the first narrative films. The film follows a gang of robbers who plan and execute a daring train robbery.
The film begins with a group of robbers gathering at a hideout to plan their heist. They decide to rob a train that is carrying a large sum of money. The leader of the gang, “Big” Jim McKay, assigns each member of the gang a specific task to ensure the success of the robbery.
The gang then sets out to intercept the train. They manage to stop the train by setting up a fake roadblock and then board the train. The robbers overpower the train’s crew and passengers and make off with the money.
However, their victory is short-lived as a posse of lawmen is hot on their trail. The gang manages to evade the posse, but in the end, they are all captured or killed. Big Jim is the only one to escape, but he is eventually tracked down and brought to justice.
The Great Train Robbery is a classic western that is still enjoyed today. It is a thrilling and suspenseful ride that has set the standard for all westerns to come.
