Synopsis/Plot
The Grapes of Wrath is a 1940 film based on the novel of the same name by John Steinbeck. Set during the Great Depression, it tells the story of the Joad family, a poor family of tenant farmers from Oklahoma who are forced to leave their home and migrate to California in search of a better life.
The Joads leave their home with their meager possessions, hoping to find work in California. They endure a difficult journey, facing many hardships along the way. They take shelter in a government campsite and are met with hostility by the local townsfolk. Despite their troubles, the Joads remain resilient and determined to find a better life.
The film follows the Joads as they struggle to make a living in California. They face exploitation and discrimination, and are forced to take menial jobs for meager wages. They also face a great deal of prejudice from the local people, who view them as a burden.
