Synopsis/Plot
The Girl on the Train is a 2016 American mystery thriller film directed by Tate Taylor and written by Erin Cressida Wilson, based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Paula Hawkins. The film stars Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, Édgar RamÃrez, and Lisa Kudrow.
The story follows Rachel Watson (Blunt), an alcoholic divorcee who takes the train to work every day and fantasizes about a couple she sees from the window, Scott and Megan Hipwell (Evans and Bennett). One day, she sees something shocking that shakes her fragile world, and she soon becomes entangled in a mystery involving the couple.
As the mystery unfolds, Rachel discovers more about the couple’s complicated marriage and Megan’s secrets. She soon finds herself in a dangerous situation, and must find the truth before it’s too late.
