The Five People You Meet In Heaven is a 2004 drama film directed by Lloyd Kramer and based on the novel by Mitch Albom. It tells the story of Eddie (voiced by Jon Voight), an elderly maintenance worker at an amusement park who dies in a tragic accident. In the afterlife, Eddie meets five people who each have a profound effect on his life.
The first person Eddie meets is the Blue Man (Jeffrey DeMunn), a mysterious figure who helps him understand his life and the consequences of his actions. The Blue Man shows Eddie how his life was connected to the lives of others, and how his choices had an impact on those around him.
The second person Eddie meets is Tala (Eloise DeJoria), a young woman from the Philippines who was killed in a war. Tala helps Eddie understand that every life is valuable, no matter how short or insignificant it may seem.
The third person Eddie meets is Ruby (Maggie Gyllenhaal), a former lover of Eddie’s who passed away years ago. Ruby helps Eddie understand the importance of love and how it can bring people together even after death.
