Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Fisher King”
The Fisher King is a 1991 American comedy-drama film directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Robin Williams, Jeff Bridges, Mercedes Ruehl, Amanda Plummer, and Michael Jeter.
The film follows the story of Jack Lucas (Jeff Bridges), a former radio shock jock whose life is destroyed by his own callous remarks. After a failed suicide attempt, he is saved by Parry (Robin Williams), a homeless man who believes he is on a quest for the Holy Grail. With the help of a beautiful woman, Anne (Mercedes Ruehl), Jack embarks on a journey of redemption, learning to care for others and to find the meaning of life.
The film begins with Jack Lucas, a successful but arrogant radio shock jock, whose callous remarks about the homeless lead to a man’s suicide. Devastated by his own actions, Jack attempts to take his own life, but is stopped by Parry, a homeless man who believes he is on a quest for the Holy Grail. Parry takes Jack to a bar, where he meets Anne, a beautiful woman who is in an abusive relationship. Jack and Anne become friends and Jack helps her to leave her abusive boyfriend.
Jack and Parry embark on a journey to find the Holy Grail, which Parry believes will help him to regain his sanity. Along the way, Jack learns to care for others and to find the meaning of life. He also helps Parry to confront
