Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Fearless Vampire Killers”
The Fearless Vampire Killers is a 1967 horror-comedy directed by Roman Polanski. Set in an isolated Transylvanian village, the film follows Professor Abronsius (Jack MacGowran) and his assistant Alfred (Roman Polanski) as they search for vampires.
The two arrive in the village of Passo Borgo, where they are met with suspicion and hostility. The locals are convinced that vampires are responsible for the mysterious disappearances of young women in the area. Despite the warnings, the two continue their investigation and soon discover that the town is indeed inhabited by vampires.
The two soon find themselves in the clutches of the vampire Count von Krolock (Ferdy Mayne), who is determined to make Alfred his bride. With the help of the local innkeeper, Shagal (Alfie Bass), Abronsius and Alfred manage to escape. However, they are pursued by the Count and his minions.
In a desperate attempt to save Alfred, Abronsius uses his knowledge of vampire lore to lure the Count and his minions into a trap. The two narrowly escape and return to the village, where Abronsius is hailed as a hero.
