Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Fanatic”
The Fanatic is a psychological thriller that follows the story of a celebrity-obsessed recluse, Moose (John Travolta). After a chance encounter with his favorite action star Hunter Dunbar (Devon Sawa), Moose becomes obsessed with getting closer to him. He begins to stalk Dunbar and his family, eventually infiltrating their lives in a dangerous and disturbing manner.
Moose’s obsession with Dunbar soon takes a dark turn when he begins to act out his own twisted fantasies. He begins to terrorize Dunbar and his family, harassing them with threatening phone calls and messages. He even goes as far as breaking into Dunbar’s house and stealing items from his family.
As Moose’s obsession grows, Dunbar and his family become increasingly desperate to find a way to escape Moose’s harassment. They enlist the help of Detective Taber (Ana Golja) to investigate the situation. Taber discovers that Moose has a history of mental illness, and that his obsession with Dunbar has caused him to become increasingly unstable.
With the help of Detective Taber, Dunbar and his family are able to confront Moose and put an end to his reign of terror. In the end, Moose is arrested and sent to a psychiatric facility, and Dunbar and his family are able to return to their lives in peace.
