Synopsis/Plot
The Edge of Seventeen is a coming-of-age comedy-drama about a high school student’s struggle with teenage angst and growing up. The story follows Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld), a socially awkward and outcast teen, who is struggling to fit in. She is dealing with the sudden death of her father, her brother’s newfound popularity, and her best friend’s betrayal. Nadine’s teacher, Mr. Bruner (Woody Harrelson) tries to help her through her struggles, but it’s not enough. Nadine must find her own way to cope and eventually come to terms with the many changes in her life. The film follows her journey of self-discovery and acceptance as she learns to embrace her true self and finally finds her place in the world. The Edge of Seventeen is a heartfelt and honest look at the struggles of growing up and coming-of-age. It’s a funny and touching film that will leave you feeling inspired and hopeful.
