The unit is sent on their first mission to sabotage a German fortress in southern France. The mission is a success, but not without casualties. After the mission, the unit is sent to Anzio, Italy, to help break the German siege of Allied forces there.
The unit is successful in their mission, but their success comes at a great cost. The unit is decimated by heavy casualties, and the survivors are sent back to the United States for rest and recuperation.
