Synopsis/Plot
The Dead Zone is a 1983 science fiction horror film directed by David Cronenberg and starring Christopher Walken, Brooke Adams, Tom Skerritt, Herbert Lom, and Martin Sheen. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.
The story follows Johnny Smith, a schoolteacher from Maine, who is involved in a near-fatal car accident that leaves him in a coma for five years. When he wakes up, Johnny discovers that he has developed the ability to see into the past, present, and future of anyone he touches.
At first, Johnny is overwhelmed by the visions he receives, and he is unable to control his powers. He soon realizes, however, that he can use his newfound ability to help people in need. He meets with a local sheriff to help him solve a murder case, and he also uses his powers to save a young girl from a dangerous cult.
As his powers become more powerful, Johnny is forced to confront the consequences of his newfound abilities. He discovers that his powers can be used for both good and evil, and he must make difficult choices about how to use them.
The Dead Zone is a gripping and thought-provoking
