Synopsis/Plot
The Darkest Hour is a 2011 science fiction thriller directed by Chris Gorak and starring Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, and Rachael Taylor. Set in Moscow during the summer of 2011, the film follows five young people who find themselves stranded in the city after an alien invasion. With the world around them destroyed, they must find a way to survive in the hostile environment and fight their way to safety.
The film opens as five young people, Sean (Hirsch), Natalie (Thirlby), Ben (Minghella), Anne (Taylor), and Vika (Joanna Kulesza) find themselves stranded in Moscow after an alien invasion. With the city in ruins and the world around them in chaos, the group is forced to scavenge for food and supplies while trying to survive in the hostile environment. As they attempt to find a way out of the city, they must also confront the aliens, which are determined to wipe out all of humanity.
