Synopsis/Plot
The Da Vinci Code is a 2006 mystery-thriller film directed by Ron Howard, based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Dan Brown. The story follows symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) and cryptologist Sophie Neveu (Audrey Tautou) as they investigate a murder in the Louvre Museum and discover a secret society called the Priory of Sion, which is protecting a secret from being revealed to the public. As Langdon and Neveu uncover clues, they become embroiled in a dangerous race against time to find the Holy Grail before the powerful Catholic Church and a secret organization called Opus Dei can find it first. Along the way, they discover secrets about Jesus Christ,The secrets they uncover about Jesus Christ challenge the foundations of Christianity and could shake the world to its very core. With the help of Leigh Teabing (Ian McKellen), a scholar who is an expert on the Holy Grail, Langdon and Neveu travel to England and France in a desperate attempt to find the Grail before their enemies do. Along the way, they must decipher clues and solve puzzles in order to stay one step ahead of their pursuers. As they race against time, they must also confront their own inner demons and face the ultimate truth about the Grail.
