Synopsis/Plot
The Curse of Frankenstein is a 1957 British horror film directed by Terence Fisher and produced by Hammer Film Productions. It stars Peter Cushing as Baron Victor Frankenstein, Hazel Court as his fiancée Elizabeth, and Christopher Lee as the Creature. The film was a major box office success and is widely regarded as the first in a long line of Hammer Horror films.
The story follows Baron Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but misguided scientist who is obsessed with the idea of creating life from death. He creates a creature out of body parts from corpses, and brings it to life with a spark of electricity. But when the creature turns out to be a violent and uncontrollable monster, Victor must face the consequences of his actions.
The film is known for its gothic atmosphere, vivid colours, and stylized camera work. The sets and costumes are lavish and the performances are strong. The creature is played brilliantly by Christopher Lee, and his presence adds an extra layer of horror to the film.
The Curse of Frankenstein is a classic horror film that still stands the test of time. It set the standard for Hammer Horror films and is a must-see for any fan of the genre.
