Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Congress”
The Congress is a 2013 science fiction drama film written and directed by Ari Folman. It stars Robin Wright as an aging actress who signs away her likeness to a Hollywood studio, allowing them to use it for any purpose they see fit.

After suffering a series of personal setbacks, Wright agrees to sign away her likeness to Miramount, a powerful Hollywood studio. In exchange, Wright will receive a substantial sum of money and a lifetime of free health care for her and her son.
Wright is then transported to a strange alternate reality, where her likeness is used to create a digital version of her that is used in a variety of entertainment projects. The digital version of Wright is portrayed as a kind of living cartoon character, and is used to promote a variety of products. She is also used as a spokesperson for a mysterious drug called “The Congress,” which is said to be able to transform people into their ideal selves.
As Wright’s digital likeness becomes increasingly popular, she is invited to attend The Futurological Congress, a gathering of the world’s most powerful people. At the conference, the attendees are presented with a radical plan to merge all human consciousness into a single digital network. Wright is horrified by the plan and attempts to escape, but is eventually captured and injected with the Congress drug.
The film then jumps to 20
