Synopsis/Plot
The Commuter is a 2018 action-thriller film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Liam Neeson, Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, and Sam Neill. The film follows Michael MacCauley, an insurance salesman and former police officer, who is caught up in a criminal conspiracy during his daily train commute home.
Michael is a former cop who is now an insurance salesman, struggling to make ends meet for his family. He is on his regular train ride home when he meets a mysterious woman, Joanna, who offers him a large sum of money to identify a passenger on the train who “doesn’t belong”. Michael is initially reluctant, but eventually agrees to the task.
As the train continues on its journey, Michael encounters a number of suspicious passengers, including a shady businessman, a suspicious couple, and a suspiciously quiet woman. As he searches for the passenger who doesn’t belong, he discovers that the train is part of a criminal conspiracy involving a powerful businessman and a dangerous criminal organization. With the help of his old police partner, Alex, Michael must find the passenger before the train reaches its destination and the criminal conspiracy is carried
