Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Clapper”
The Clapper is a 2018 American comedy-drama film directed by Dito Montiel and starring Ed Helms, Amanda Seyfried, Tracy Morgan, Adam Levine, and Russell Peters.
The Clapper follows Eddie Krumble (Ed Helms), a struggling Long Island gas station attendant who makes ends meet by working as a professional clapper at infomercials. As a clapper, Eddie is paid to stand in the audience of the infomercials and clap to make it appear as though the product is popular.
One day, Eddie meets and falls in love with Judy (Amanda Seyfried), a single mother and aspiring actress. As their relationship blossoms, Eddie’s life becomes more complicated when he discovers that his clapping has been caught on camera and he has become an overnight celebrity.
Eddie must now decide whether to embrace his newfound fame or remain anonymous and stay with Judy. As his newfound fame begins to take its toll on his relationship with Judy, Eddie must decide whether to stay with Judy or pursue his newfound fame.
The film follows Eddie as he struggles to balance his new fame with his relationship with Judy and his day job. Along the way, he learns the importance of staying true to himself and his relationships.
