Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Burning”
The Burning is a 1981 American slasher film directed by Tony Maylam and written by Peter Lawrence and Bob Weinstein. It stars Brian Matthews, Leah Ayres, Brian Backer, Larry Joshua, and Jason Alexander.
The film follows a group of teenagers who are spending the summer at a camp in the Catskill Mountains. One night, a caretaker named Cropsy (Lou David) is the victim of a prank gone wrong, and is severely burned by a group of campers. Five years later, Cropsy is released from the hospital, but is a shell of his former self. He is determined to seek revenge on the campers who wronged him, and sets out to terrorize the camp with a pair of garden shears.
As Cropsy’s reign of terror begins, the campers must band together to try to survive the night. They must rely on their wits and courage to outsmart Cropsy and make it through the night alive.
