Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Bronze”
The Bronze is a 2016 American comedy-drama film directed by Bryan Buckley. It stars Melissa Rauch, Gary Cole, Thomas Middleditch, Sebastian Stan, and Haley Lu Richardson.
The film follows Hope Annabelle Greggory (Rauch), a former Olympic bronze medalist in gymnastics, who has become a washed-up celebrity in her small Ohio hometown. Despite her fame, Hope is still living with her mother, and is struggling to make ends meet. She is offered a job coaching a young up-and-coming gymnast, Maggie (Richardson). Initially, Hope is reluctant to take the job, but eventually agrees.
Hope and Maggie quickly become close, and Hope begins to take her coaching job seriously. As she and Maggie train, Hope begins to remember her glory days as an Olympic athlete. She also begins to realize how her past mistakes have held her back from achieving her full potential.
As Maggie’s skills improve, Hope and Maggie travel to the Olympic trials in an effort to qualify for the Olympics. Along the way, Hope is forced to confront her past and make some difficult decisions. In the end, Hope is able to come to terms with her past and help Maggie achieve her dreams.
