Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Boy”
The Boy is a 2015 horror film directed by William Brent Bell and starring Lauren Cohan and Rupert Evans. The film follows an American nanny, Greta, who is hired by an English couple to take care of their 8-year-old son, Brahms.
Greta arrives at the family’s remote estate and is introduced to Brahms, who is a porcelain doll. She is told that Brahms is a very special boy who must be treated with respect and care. Despite her initial shock, Greta slowly begins to care for Brahms as if he were a real child.
As Greta settles into the role of nanny, strange things begin to happen around the house. She hears strange noises and sees mysterious figures lurking in the shadows. She also discovers that Brahms was the son of the family’s previous nanny, who died mysteriously.
Greta soon discovers the horrifying truth about Brahms. He is not a real boy, but a cursed doll that was created to contain the spirit of a dead child. The doll was designed to be a vessel for the child’s soul so that he could be brought back to life.
Greta must now face the terrifying consequences of her actions as she struggles to protect Brahms from the dark forces that are out to destroy him. As the horror intensifies, Greta must confront her own fears in order to save Brahms and break the curse.
