Synopsis/Plot
The Boondock Saints is a 1999 American crime film written and directed by Troy Duffy. The film stars Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as fraternal twins named Connor and Murphy McManus, who become vigilantes after killing two members of the Russian Mafia in self-defense. Willem Dafoe plays an FBI agent who follows the trail of the McManus brothers as they hunt down the remaining members of the Russian mob.
The story begins in Boston, Massachusetts, where two Irish Catholic brothers, Connor and Murphy McManus, have grown up in a tight-knit South Boston neighborhood. After a night of drinking and carousing, the brothers are witness to a Russian mob hit in an alley. They intervene and kill the two mobsters in self-defense.
The brothers then decide to become vigilantes and embark on a mission to rid the city of evil. With the help of their friend, David Della Rocco, they set out to systematically take out the remaining members of the Russian mob.
Meanwhile, FBI agent Paul Smecker is assigned to investigate the series of mob killings. After piecing together evidence, he begins to suspect the McManus brothers are behind
