Meanwhile, a local girl named Angel Blake discovers a strange patch of fur growing on her shoulder. She is soon joined by others in the village, who also have patches of fur growing on their bodies. As the fur spreads, the villagers become increasingly violent and unhinged, and Angel begins to suspect that the skull has unleashed an evil force.

However, their ritual is interrupted by a group of Puritan soldiers, who have been sent to investigate the strange occurrences in the village.
