The Birth of a Nation is a powerful drama about a young African-American man, Nat Turner, who leads a slave revolt in the antebellum South. Set in 1831, the movie follows Turner from his childhood as a slave to his eventual leadership of a rebellion against the white plantation owners of Virginia.
