Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Beaver”
The Beaver is an American drama film released in 2011. It stars Mel Gibson as Walter Black, a depressed and suicidal toy company executive who adopts a beaver puppet as his only method of communication.
The film begins with Walter’s family trying to cope with his depression. Walter’s wife, Meredith (Jodie Foster), and his two sons, Porter (Anton Yelchin) and Henry (Riley Thomas Stewart), are at their wits’ end trying to help him. One day, Walter comes home with a beaver puppet, which he begins to use as his only means of communication.
At first, Walter’s family is confused and frustrated by his behavior, but eventually they come to accept it. As Walter’s condition improves, he begins to work at the toy company again and even starts to rebuild his relationship with his family. However, his newfound optimism is short-lived as his depression begins to return.
Walter’s family is worried about him and decides to send him to a psychiatric hospital. While in the hospital, Walter finds solace in the beaver puppet and continues to use it as his only means of communication. When he is released, he is determined to make things right with his family and to find a way to keep the beaver puppet in his life.
The film follows Walter as he struggles to find a balance between his newfound happiness and his depression. He is tested in his relationships with his family, his work
