Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Beast Within”
The Beast Within is a 1982 horror film directed by Philippe Mora and starring Ronny Cox, Bibi Besch, Paul Clemens, and Don Gordon.
The plot follows Michael MacCleary (Clemens), a young man from a small Mississippi town who is afflicted with a mysterious condition that causes him to transform into a monster. As he begins to transform more and more, he realizes that he has a strange connection to the mysterious creature known as the Beast of Baskerville.
The movie begins with Michael’s parents, Sarah (Besch) and Tom (Gordon), taking him to a doctor to try to figure out what is wrong with him. After numerous tests, the doctor is unable to find a cause and suggests that they take him to a specialist.
Michael’s parents take him to a specialist, Dr. Hirsch (Cox), who specializes in the study of monsters. Dr. Hirsch discovers that Michael is a victim of a rare genetic condition known as lycanthropy, which causes him to transform into a monster.
Dr. Hirsch and Michael’s parents soon discover that Michael is connected to the Beast of Baskerville, a creature that has been terrorizing the town for years. As they try to find a way to help Michael, they must also confront the Beast of Baskerville and uncover its secrets.
