Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Babymakers”
The Babymakers is a 2012 American comedy film starring Paul Schneider, Olivia Munn, and Kevin Heffernan. The film follows Tommy Macklin (Schneider), a thirty-something husband and expectant father, who discovers that he is infertile. After his wife Audrey (Munn) decides to move forward with artificial insemination, Tommy and his best friend, Danny (Heffernan), set out on a wild and outrageous mission to steal back the sperm sample that Tommy donated years earlier.
The film opens with Tommy and Audrey attending their first ultrasound appointment. After the doctor reveals that Tommy is infertile, Tommy and Audrey are left to figure out their next steps. Audrey decides to move forward with artificial insemination, and Tommy reluctantly agrees.
Tommy and Danny set out on their mission to steal the sperm sample, enlisting the help of a shady doctor and an ex-con. As they try to track down the sperm sample, they find themselves in a series of increasingly outrageous and dangerous situations, including a bank robbery and a high-speed car chase.
Meanwhile, Audrey is dealing with her own issues as she struggles to adjust to the idea of having a baby without Tommy’s biological contribution. After a series of mishaps, Tommy and Danny eventually locate the sperm sample and return it to Audrey.
In the end, Tommy and Audrey learn to accept their situation and embrace the idea of having a baby together
