Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Assent”
The Assent is a psychological horror film released in 2020. It follows a single father, Joel, who is struggling to raise his son, Liam, in the wake of his wife’s death.
Liam begins to have strange visions and nightmares, and Joel is concerned for his son’s mental health. After consulting with a doctor, Joel is referred to a paranormal researcher, who believes Liam is being haunted by a demonic presence.
The researcher warns Joel that if he does not take action, the demon will take control of Liam’s body and soul. Joel is desperate to protect his son, and he agrees to let the researcher perform an exorcism on Liam.
The exorcism is a success, but soon afterwards, strange things begin to happen in the house. Joel is convinced that the demon has returned, and he begins to investigate what is going on.
The investigation leads Joel to discover a dark secret about the house’s past. He soon realizes that the demon is connected to a powerful force that has been manipulating events in the house for centuries.
In order to protect his son, Joel must confront the dark force and battle the demon in a desperate attempt to save Liam. With the help of the paranormal researcher, Joel must find a way to defeat the demon and protect his son from its evil influence.
