Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Assassination Bureau”
The Assassination Bureau is a 1969 British-American action comedy film directed by Basil Dearden and starring Oliver Reed, Diana Rigg, and Telly Savalas. The film is based on Jack London’s novel of the same name, and is set in the early 20th century.
The film follows the story of Ivan Dragomiloff, the founder and president of The Assassination Bureau. The Bureau is a secret organization that carries out assassinations for a fee, and is run by a council of nine members. Dragomiloff is a master of disguise and a master of manipulation, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
When the Bureau is hired to assassinate an influential politician, Dragomiloff finds himself in a difficult situation. He must choose between his loyalty to the Bureau and his own moral code.
Meanwhile, two of the Bureau’s members, the beautiful Diana Rigg and the dangerous Telly Savalas, become involved in a romantic relationship. This relationship puts Dragomiloff in a difficult position, as he must decide whether to stay loyal to the Bureau or to follow his heart.
The film follows Dragomiloff as he navigates his way through the moral dilemmas presented by his work, as well as the complexities of his relationship with Rigg and Savalas. He must ultimately decide whether to stay true to his code or to follow his heart.
