Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Art of War II: Betrayal”
The Art of War II: Betrayal is a 2008 action-thriller film and a sequel to the 2000 film The Art of War.
The story follows Agent Neil Shaw (Wesley Snipes), a highly-skilled operative for the United Nations’ covert operations division. After a mission to take down a Chinese crime lord goes awry, Shaw is framed for the murder of a Chinese diplomat. He must now go on the run from both the Chinese government and his own agency in order to clear his name.
With the help of his former mentor, Paul Davidson (Michael Biehn), Shaw must evade capture while trying to uncover the truth behind the frame-up. He discovers a powerful Chinese businessman named Chen Lo (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) is behind the conspiracy, and he is determined to bring him to justice.
Shaw and Davidson enlist the help of an old friend, Lai (Marie Matiko), who is working undercover in Chen Lo’s organization. With her help, they are able to infiltrate Chen Lo’s headquarters and uncover the truth behind the frame-up.
However, their investigation soon puts them in the crosshairs of Chen Lo’s henchmen, and they must fight for their lives if they are to survive. In the end, Shaw must use all his training and cunning to outwit his enemies and bring the truth to light.
