Synopsis/Plot
The Amityville Murders is a 2018 American horror film directed by Daniel Farrands. It is a prequel to the 1979 classic The Amityville Horror. The film follows the story of the DeFeo family, who move into the infamous Amityville house in 1975.
The DeFeo family consists of father, Ronald DeFeo Sr., mother, Louise DeFeo, and their five children: Ronald Jr., Dawn, Allison, Marc, and John Matthew. At first, the family is happy in their new home, but soon strange occurrences begin to occur. Ronald Jr. begins to experience night terrors and strange voices in the house, and the family begins to suspect that something sinister is lurking in the shadows.
One night, Ronald Sr. hears strange noises coming from the basement and goes to investigate. He discovers his eldest son, Ronald Jr., murdering the rest of the family in a horrific massacre. Ronald Jr. is arrested and sent to a mental facility while the Amityville house is put up for sale.
