Synopsis/Plot
The Adventures of Robin Hood is a classic 1938 adventure film starring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, and Basil Rathbone. It tells the classic tale of a brave and noble outlaw, Robin Hood, who robs from the rich and gives to the poor. Set in the 12th century, the story follows Robin Hood and his loyal band of Merry Men as they battle the evil Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John.
The movie begins with Robin Hood and his men stealing from the rich to give to the poor. After being pursued by the Sheriff of Nottingham, Robin and his men escape to Sherwood Forest, where they make their home. Here, Robin and his band of Merry Men live off the land and plan their next move.
Meanwhile, Prince John has usurped the throne from King Richard, who is away fighting in the Crusades. Prince John plans to raise taxes and oppress the people of England, and the Sheriff of Nottingham is his right-hand man. To make matters worse, the Sheriff has imprisoned Robin’s beloved Maid Marian.
