Synopsis – What to Expect from “The Absent-Minded Professor”
The Absent-Minded Professor is a classic 1961 Disney film starring Fred MacMurray as Professor Ned Brainard, a brilliant but absent-minded professor at Medfield College. He has a passion for inventing but his inventions never seem to work out.
One day, while working in his laboratory, he accidentally discovers a new substance called “flubber” that has the ability to bounce higher than any other material. He quickly realizes the potential of this discovery and begins to experiment with it.
Meanwhile, the college is in danger of being shut down due to lack of funds. Brainard decides to use his invention to help the college by creating a new basketball team. With the help of his assistant Wilbur, the team is formed and they begin to practice with the new “flubber” balls.
The team quickly becomes a success, winning their first game and gaining the attention of the college board. However, Brainard’s invention is soon noticed by a greedy businessman, Alonzo Hawk, who wants to use it for his own gain. He tries to buy the invention from Brainard, but Brainard refuses.
Hawk then decides to steal it and use it to make a fortune. Brainard and Wilbur must find a way to stop him and save the college. They enlist the help of Brainard’s wife Betsy and the college’s professor of chemistry, Professor Quigley,
