The film tells the story of the 2010 Copiapó mining accident in Chile, which trapped 33 miners 700 meters (2,300 ft) underground for a record 69 days. The story chronicles the struggles of the miners, their families, and the government and private corporations who worked to rescue them.
The film begins with the miners in the mine, and follows the story of the miners’ families as they wait for news of their loved ones. As the days pass, the families become increasingly desperate for news and the government and private companies become increasingly involved in the rescue effort.
As the miners struggle to survive, they form a bond and become a team, relying on each other for support and strength. As the rescue effort progresses, the miners are finally freed and reunited with their families.
