Synopsis/Plot
Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny is a 2006 musical comedy starring Jack Black and Kyle Gass as the titular band, Tenacious D. The film follows the two as they embark on a quest to find a magical guitar pick that will make them the greatest rock duo of all time. Along the way, they encounter a variety of obstacles, from a rival band to a mysterious man in black. The film features a mix of live-action and animation, and a soundtrack of original songs written and performed by Tenacious D.
The movie begins with a flashback to when JB (Jack Black) and KG (Kyle Gass) first met at a rock show. After bonding over their shared love of rock music, the two decide to form a band. After struggling to make it big, they hear a rumor about a magical guitar pick called the Pick of Destiny.
